Juventus set to offer Italian striker in exchange-deal for star Chelsea midfielder

The Premier League this summer has been a busy space with more than £700m spent on players from around the world.

Chelsea are one of the many teams that has spent big to get their hands on their top transfer targets as Antonio Conte, the new boss at the Bridge tries to assert his dominance on the squad at the club.

The manager has already brought in the likes of Michy Batshuayi and N’Golo Kante to the club and is still in the market for a central defender and possibly even a striker.

However, Conte will now have to deal with players who are wanted by other clubs.

Juventus, who sold Paul Pogba to Manchester United in a world record £89m deal, are now in search of a world class midfielder to replace the Frenchman and it is understood that Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic is high on the transfer wish-list for Massimiliano Allegri.

The Serbian midfielder was one of the most important players for Jose Mourinho’s title-winning Chelsea side in 2015 but has fallen down the pecking order ever since. His progress was hampered by injuries in the previous season and with Kante also in the squad, Matic may not be able to get enough game time at the Bridge next season.

So Juventus want to take advantage of the unrest and are reportedly ready to offer a deal that will be hard to reject for Chelsea and Conte.

The Italian champions are now ready to offer Chelsea fringe striker Simone Zaza + cash in their pursuit of a replacement for the French starlet.

Zaza, who revealed recently that he will not be leaving Turin and the Serie A in a hurry, rejected a €25m move to Wolfsburg early in the transfer window. But a chance to work with ex-Italian boss Antonio Conte is said to be enough to convince him for a move to the London.

Chelsea were reportedly set to meet with Matic’s agent today but it is reported that the meeting was postponed and that Juventus may have stuck a deal with the Blues.

No official word on the story is out yet but it will be interesting as to what Conte does with the Serbian with under a week left for the new season.

Do you think Conte should let Matic go this summer?
