Mascherano remains non-committal on Barcelona future

Italian champions Juventus are eyeing Barcelona’s star footballer Javier Mascherano as a replacement for departing Paul Pogba.

The Frenchman is expected to leave Turin this summer amid interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid for a world record fee of over 100 million pounds and Juventus are keen to find perfect replacements for the 23-year old.

The rumours speculating that Mascherano would leave Catalan club have gained momentum during the final weeks of last season. But the player has publicly admitted his willingness to play for the Spanish giants.

Mascherano has plenty of experience at Barcelona as he plays Champions League football and is one of the best midfielders present in Europe with loads of experience.

Corriere Dello Sport says that Argentina international Mascherano could be tempted to Turin despite voicing his interest to stay at Camp Nou for the upcoming season.

The Barcelona hierarchy are looking to keep the 32-year old at Camp Nou as they are willing to offer a  new contract to the midfielder.

However if Juventus are unable to sign Mascherano, other potential targets include Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic, Mateo Kovacic of Real Madrid and Inter’s Marcelo Brozovic.
