With former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp joining Liverpool as manager, speculations started flowing that he might lure the best assets of Signal Iduna Park to Anfield.

Marco Reus is a player who gets linked with Liverpool in every transfer window and it is highly likely that the German superstar will get linked highly with the Reds again as his former manager who nurtured him into a world class footballer in charge at Anfield.

Ilkay Gundogan, another world class midfielder made by Klopp, also is a long term target of the Reds and with his excitement over his favoured manager joining Liverpool, he himself gave a boost to Liverpool.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also is linked with a move to Liverpool in the last few days.

But, Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has cooled talk of a transfer raid from Liverpool in the coming months.

He stated that, Klopp, a legend of Borussia would never harm his former club by taking away the best players.

“Jurgen would never do anything which would harm the interests of BVB – I am 100 percent sure of this,” he said.

“He would never get in touch with players behind our back.”

“I’m happy he’s landed at Liverpool. I am convinced he will be as successful as he was at Dortmund.”

Liverpool need some big signings to come back to their best and it was thought that Klopp would raid at his former club to sign players he know in order to get success but the statement from the BVB chief is a huge blow to Liverpool who wanted to Reus is Red shirt.
