In Pictures – Liverpool 1-2 Manchester United – No one will forget Mata’s goals and Gerrard’s red card

shashi / 23 March 2015

No Manchester United fan will forget 22nd March 2015 in a hurry, rather it will go down as one of the days to savour in United’s history. Anfield had eluded the red devils of a win for last 3 seasons and prior to the match Van Gaal touched on that aspect and said, I know United have not won at Anfield but now I am the manager and it shall change.

It did change for good as Van Gaal’s tactics outplayed Liverpool’s fluent midfield and helped United to stamp their authority on the game and take out the victory with a 2-1 scoreline.

This game, like any other Liverpool-United clash had umpteen memorable moments like Mata’s two goal wonder, Fellaini standing tall over Liverpool’s midfield, Gerrard’s shocking red card, Sturridge’s goal, Rooney’s penalty miss and much more.

We have got it all covered as we bring all the action to you in pictures. We have selected the best images from the game and have brought them to your viewing pleasure. See them here:
