Liverpool started life in their renovated stadium in style as they comfortably beat Premier League champions Leicester City by 4-1.

The Merseyside club looked in total control after Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane gave them a 2-0 lead but the reigning champions were given hope when Lucas inexplicably passed the ball to Leicester forward Jamie Vardy to shoot into an empty net and reduce the deficit. But a beautiful goal by  Adam Lallana when he fired a shot into the top corner gave the Reds a breathing space before Firmino scored his second goal to seal the game. With this won, Liverpool have now seven points from four games compared  and are now fifth in the table.

Meanwhile, Leicester have started the new season poorly and this is their second loss in four games. With four points they are in 15th position on the table as they prepare for their Champions League debut against Club Brugge on Wednesday.

An avid sports lover, i always wanted to pursue a career in football. But just like the millions out there i did not put in the hard work needed to achieve my dream and now i have become a fan instead of the player. Anyway, writing for sports has kept me closer to this field. One more thing, yours sincerely is a die-hard Liverpool fan. You will never walk alone.
