Granit Xhaka is right now valued around £20 million, and both Jurgen Klopp and Arsene Wenger are planning to sign the Borussia Monchengladbach player in January.

According to german media outlet Bild, the 23-year-old youngster also has shown interest in a move to the Premier League clubs despite committing  long-term future to the Bundesliga club.

The Sweden international admitted, “things can happen quickly in football” and his next possible move would be to a “top, top club.”

Xhaka is basically more defensive minded, but he has an exceptional knack of finding the nets each season.

But his major problem is the disciplinary record he has achieved in recent years.

The Bundesliga star playmaker has already seen six yellow cards and two red cards in just 11 league matches this season while scoring 3 goals.

Xhaka’s current contract with Gladbach ends in 2019, but the German tabloid claims to have knowledge of a stunning 30 million euro exit clause in his contract.

So it’s a simple situation for both Liverpool and Arsenal, either splash up the cash or just walk away.

Reports are suggesting, Liverpool have the advantage to succeed the deal and Klopp is eager to bring the player. Liverpool are reported to be placing a bid for Xhaka this January transfer window.

Arsenal are also looking for this promising Swedish. His physic and tenacity levels him very similar to Coquelin. But Xhaka’s box-to-box mentality can challenge Coquelin. He has the much needed defensive skills, something Ramsey lacks a little bit.

Arsenal surely has vast midfield options, but if u dig underneath the surface and you will find a somewhat barren wasteland. Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky all are set to move on. Jack Wilshere is always suffering from injuries. Aaron Ramsey’s fitness is always a concern. The Gunners have some young lads as well. Now it leaves an aging Santi Cazorla, and somewhat offense-less Francis Coquelin and a certified german maestro, Mesut Ozil. Those are Wenger’s reliable options. So Wenger needs someone more young and promising to bolster the midfield.
