Liverpool have identified Real Madrid midfielder Denis Cheryshev as the potential summer signing to add the much-needed firepower to their attack. Cheryshev is currently on loan at Villarreal from Real Madrid and is valued in the region of £20-22 million.
Cheryshev has been a product of Real Madrid’s youth academy and is at the club since 2006. The Russian winger has failed to break in to the senior side at Bernabeau but the 24-year old midfielder has enjoyed two successful seasons on loan out at Sevilla (2013-14) and Villarreal (2014-15).
This season, Cheryshev has scored 7 league goals and has made 10 assists for his teammates. Liverpool are currently lacking an influential player in the final third of the pitch which is distinctively visible in their performances on the pitch.
Liverpool has failed to get a hold of their season since their loss to Manchester United and pressure is piling on the manager Brendan Rodgers to end Liverpool’s season on a high in the remaining 4 games. Rodgers has been bullish about being at the club next season but if anything goes wrong in the remaining games, odds will not be in the favor of Brendan Rodgers to stay at the club next season.
Liverpool need to bring in new and effective players at Anfield next season if they are to mount any challenge to the top sides in Premier League for the title and the Champions League places. For now, Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev has been identified as one of the summer signing for a fee of £20-22 million.
