Liverpool FC have contacted the agent of Barcelona forward Pedro, according to reports in Spain, despite the player signing a new deal at the club recently.

Pedro recently signed a new contract with Barcelona but Catalan newspaper SPORT suggest the 27-year-old is looking for options as he is not expected to get much first team chances with the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar in the team.

The 27 year old La Masia graduate was highly rated and touted to be a world beater with Barcelona.

But he could never become a first team player at Camp Nou.

The former World Cup and Euro Cup winner has scored 58 goals for the Spanish giants in La Liga.

Reports say that PSG have been leading the race for his signature, but now the Reds and Arsenal have joined in for the attacker’s signature.

Liverpool is looking to sign a replacement of young Raheem Sterling who is rumoured to be leaving Anfield this summer and Pedro is the player Liverpool have identified to fulfil their intentions.

But Arsenal is also interested in the Barcelona winger/forward and Arsene Wenger wants to bring the Spanish to Emirates following previous season’s success in bringing Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona.

PSG  were the frontrunners to sign Pedro after their transfer ban was lifted but are now looking for Angel Di Maria’s signature.
