According to the latest reports, Liverpool are set to swoop for Borussia Dortmund’s striker Ciro Immobile and will officially make a bid for the striker in the summer.
Liverpool are eying for the unsettled striker as there has been lot of issues with out of form, fellow Italian forward Mario Balotelli. Recent penalty row in Europa League against Besiktas indicate that the Italian striker might not have a long term at Anfield. To add to these, Mario Balotelli have not stood to any of the expectations of the fans with the forward netting only 4 times since his move to Anfield last summer.
Liverpool are targeting Immobile as he failed to make an impact in Bundesliga netting just seven goals in his 21 apperances to the 2012 champions thi season. Immobile being a proven striker at Serie A can be a good option for Liverpool to partner Sturridge.
Immobile does a lot of running for the team and this will help Liverpool as he can be a second striker in their attacking force next season. Borussia Dortmund are also willing to cut their losses on the Italian forward and could accept a £15m bid.
Liverpool were also interested in Italian forward last season but ended up signing Mario Balotelli. Rodgers is a big fan of Immobile and made a move for the forward, but was beaten by Jurgen Klopp and Borussia Dortmund last season. With Aubemeyang being the preferred striker at Dortmund, the Italian might just consider a move to Liverpool as it would be a new adventure with a lot of intensity.
