Liverpool are one of the many teams that will be in the market for a shot –stopper in the summer transfer window.

The current goal keeper at Anfield, Simon Mingolet has often been criticized for his mistake prone stint at the club and though he put pen to paper just months ago, it is understood that Liverpool want to sign a top class goal keeper for the next season.

And high on the wish-list is Inter Milan’s Samir Handanovic.

Inter Milan are not on course for a Champions League spot next season and it is understood that Handovic wants to desperately play in the competition next season.

This has seen the 31-year old linked with a number of clubs from Europe.

Inter are currently 5 points away from AS Roma in third place and with 8 matches remaining in the season, their chances of a top 3 finish are slim.

Handanovic, who has been the undisputed number 1 at Inter penned a new contract earlier this season that will keep him at the club till 2019. However, lack of Champions League football has now seen the player desperate for a move away from the club.

The 31-year old has already retired from International duty with Slovenia and is focused completely on club football and as already mentions, prefers to play in the Champions League every season.

This has seen him linked with many clubs from Europe including the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Wolfsburg.

Liverpool are understood to be monitoring the players progress for over an year and with the un-certainty of the Belgium shot stopper in the current squad, Handovic might just be a good option for the Reds next season.

The Italian outfit have already mentioned that a fee in the region of €20 million will be enough for them to sell the player and it will be up to Liverpool to decide if they want to splash the cash for the experience that the 31-year old will bring with him.

However, with hardly any resale value, and a number of other transfer targets still in site, Handovic might not be the perfect solution for Klopp’s problems at Anfield.

The like of Ter-Stegen from Barcelona and Mattia Perin from Genoa are also high on the wish list at Liverpool and it will be interesting to see who they decide to buy in the summer.
