Liverpool hope to snatch Celtic starlet before Premier League rivals

Merseyside outfit Liverpool are set to be a busy club this summer with a number of players set to come to the club as the new manager Jurgen Klopp tries to stamp his authority on the squad.

One of the many places in the squad that need to be strengthened is the left back position which has been occupied by Spanish national Alberto Moreno over the last couple of seasons.

Moreno moved to Liverpool from Sevilla before the start of the previous season but has not been able to impress the Kop.

He is sizzling in attack but is often found wanting at the back and it is understood that Klopp has identified that his position in the squad needs to be strengthened.

And Football Insider now claims that Jurgen Klopp is tracking Celtic’s Kieran Tierney for a possible move this summer.

Tierney made his Scotland debut against Denmark last week and has already made 26 appearances for the club.

The highly-rated left-back is believed to be worth anywhere in between £5 million and £10 million and the Reds are reportedly set to swoop.

At just 18-years of age, Tierney is already attracting interests from top sides in Europe and it is understood that Jurgen Klopp wants to have his man this summer.

However, he is not the only option for Liverpool who have been linked to a number of players for the same position over the last few weeks.

Leicester’s Ben Chilwell, Lorient’s Raphael Guerreiro, PSV Eindhoven’s Jetro Willems and Cologne’s Jonas Hector are all on the wish list for the Anfield boss and it will be interesting to see who he chooses come to the start of the next season.

However, Klopp does have a gem of his own in his own squad in Jon Flanagan.

A Kop favorite, Flanagan has proven himself again after coming back from injury and is showing signs of maturity in recent games.

He may not be full fit without a proper pre-season coming back from an 18-month injury lay-off but he is surely a disciplined defender. He has already signed a contract extension with the club and will be hoping to steal a regular place in the starting XI under Klopp next season.

Who do you think will play in the left back position for Liverpool at the start of the next season?
