Liverpool Move Closer To Landing Top Transfer Target In The Summer For Cut Price

Having taken a point from Chelsea’s trip to Anfield to arrest their slide in the points table, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will now look to fight back and start challenging for a place higher up the table.

The manager will be happy now that most of his first team is back fit and with just 15 games left in the season, the squad at the club is expected to do just enough to take them closer to the top of the table.

However, to qualify for the Champions League will still be the major aim at Anfield and Jurgen Klopp is already making plans for life next season.

According to reports from Transfer Market Web, Liverpool are now desperate to sign Borussia Monchengladbach star Mahmoud Dahoud at the end of the season.

The German midfielder is one of the most exciting players in his position in Europe and was a transfer target for the club even in the summer.

However, the Syrian-born player was not ready to exit the Bundesliga yet and Liverpool failed to get their man.

Though he was at times linked to the club in January, a number of top European clubs came calling with the likes of Juventus and Barcelona also keeping an eye on the player.

However, this recent story claims that Dahoud is a long-term target for Jurgen Klopp and that he is desperate to add him to his squad at Anfield this summer.

It is understood that Liverpool had scouts watching over the player in a recent game and that they are confident of landing him in the summer.

The 21-year old recently rejected a new contract with the German outfit and is ready for a move and with not more than 18 months left on his contract, he is expected to be available for around the £10m mark.

At that price, the young midfielder is an absolute steal and Klopp wants to make up the players mind before he the big guns come calling.

At just 21, Dahoud as a bright future ahead and playing for clubs like Barcelona may not help his in his progress. It is better for him to find regular game time and improve for another couple of years before thinking about such a big move.

But at the moment, a move to Liverpool, especially with Emre Can linked with an exit from Anfield, seems to be a smart one for the midfielder. Do you think Liverpool can land Dahoud in the summer?
