According to Italian news source Sportsmediaset, Liverpool are in talks with Florentina over a possible swap deal including Mario Balotelli and German international Mario Gomez. The Reds are looking to sign a proven striker this summer as their strikers have failed miserably last season. The likes of Balotelli, Borini and Lambert have all failed as they amassed less than 10 goals last season.

Liverpool have a scored only 50+ goals last season, a stat which reached 100 mark the previous season because of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge. The Reds have already secured Danny Ings from Burnley and Roberto Firmino from TSG Hoffenheim. Brendan Rodgers is keen to provide life line to Mario Balotelli as he wants the Italian to move back to Serie A to prove his worth at Florentina and want to sign unsettled Mario Gomez in return on a season long loan.

The German international have failed in Italy after having splendid days at Bayern winning treble at Byern Munich in 2013. The player suffered serious injuries in the last two seasons and lost his first team place. The german have failed to cement his position at the club in the limited oppurtunitis he manged last season. Rodgers is keen to add Gomez in his attack for next season after struggling to secure the likes of Christian Beenteke and Alexandre Lacazette.
