Liverpool managed to hang on to their European campaign right at the last moment thanks to a header from Dejan Lovren but they will have to turn their attention towards the Premier League this weekend.
They travel to Bournemouth on Sunday to face a Cherries side that has not been easy to break down all season. Though they have their weaknesses, Eddie Howe’s side have played some good football and Liverpool will have to be at their best to get all three points from this game.
On the eve of the match, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp revealed that the squad had no new injuries to worry about. Midfielder Emre Can is out for up to six weeks with the ankle injury he picked up against Dortmund while Henderson and Benteke are still out of contention. Gomez, Ings, and Rossiter are the only other causalities for Klopp.
With a crunch game against Everton looming in the mid-week, Klopp is expected to ring in the changes for this game. Here is the line-up Liverpool are expected to field against Bournemouth on Sunday:
Goal Keeper:
Simon Mignolet:
The Belgian will keep his place as he tries to gain some confidence and finish the season on a high.
Defense:
Jon Flanagan:
With Clyne needed against Everton, it would be a good time to rest him and bring Flanagan back into action this weekend.
Dejan Lovren:
The hero for Liverpool on Thursday, Lovren is in great form and will love to play every game for the club from now to the end of the season.
Mamadou Sakho:
Forming a superb partnership with Lovren, Sakho who started the game against Dortmund in the worst possible manner will get another chance on Sunday.
Alberto Moreno:
The youngster was full of energy the other night and will keep his place in this game against the Cherries.
Mid-field:
Lucas Leiva:
With injuries to first choice midfielders, Lucas will be brought back into the team after missing out for several weeks through injury.
Joe Allen:
The Welsh international was influential in Liverpool’s victory against Dortmund and will once against start in the midfield with injuries to the squad.
Adam Lallana:
Though had a sedated game last time around, Lallana is currently in good form and will hope to cement his place with a good performance on Sunday.
Roberto Firmino:
The Brazilian had no impact of note against Dortmund but will play an important role in this Premier League fixture.
Sheyi Ojo:
After the impressive performance against Stoke City, Ojo deserves a start this weekend and will play on the wings.
Attack:
Daniel Sturridge:
Had a role to play in Lovren’s winner the other night and will have a huge role to play as he leads his team out for this game against the Cherries.
