Liverpool have been tracking the FC Midtyjlland midfielder Mikkel Duelund for quite a long time and the player has now exposed that his favourite destination is not Liverpool, but Manchester United, according to Express UK. The 18-year-old midfielder has been piped as one with a great potentials and it was also reported that the Danish international is seeking a move away from the Danish Champions.

Liverpool were frontrunners until now, who tried to sign him last summer, and is expected to lodge an improved bid this summer. But tide has taken a different turn as the player himself revealed that he dreams of moving to the ‘Theatre of Dreams’.

“My ultimate dream in football would be to play for Manchester United, but here and now my biggest ambition is to knock out the team I love,” Mikkel Duelund spoke. “My only focus is on football and to do my best for the team. I am not a fan in this situation. I am a player, who will do everything to beat them.”

FC Midtyjlland will face Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League’s Round-of-32. The midfielder is renowned for his visionary passes and game reading abilities. Since 2014, he has featured 18 times in the Danish League, scoring four goals.

Liverpool were adamant on the signature of the Dane, and prepared a bid which was declined by the Danish Champions who were reluctant to sell the player. But with his increasing popularity, it will be difficult for the club to hold him from moving into newer, and bigger adventures.

The player has also featured for Denmark U-19 squad, scoring eight times from 10 appearances.
