Liverpool transfer round-up: 4 out and 1 big blow

Klopp’s exodus is in full flow at Liverpool as Anfield witnessed one of the busier days in the transfer window on Tuesday.

The club is still in search of players to add to his squad but has decided to let go of a number of players ahead of the next season. So Let’s take a look at all the transfer stories surrounding Anfield on the night:

Let’s start with the news about Scouse favorite Jon Flanagan. The Liverpool born and bred right back impressed Jurgen Klopp in the limited chances he got but the manager wants to him to have enough game time and has sent him away from the club.

It was revealed earlier today that the 24-year old has passed a medical at Burnely ahead of a move this summer with the contract also involving a buy-back clause that will enable Liverpool to snatch him back if he hits rich form.

Staying on the topic, Liverpool have also let star youngster Ryan Kent leave on loan for the next season. The talented 19-year old was impressive in his stint with the senior side in the pre-season games but is now set to play for Barnsley on a season long loan from Liverpool.

It is also revealed that Liverpool have inserted a clause that requires the Championship club to play the youngster for 75% of the matches when he is fit making sure that he will have enough game time away from the club.

Moving on, Liverpool are also close to letting Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva out of the club this summer. The long-serving midfielder was one of the most impressive players in his position in the Premier League last season but with Klopp strengthening his squad this summer, Lucas does not have enough place in the squad.

The 29-year old is said to be on his way to Galatasaray who are ready to pay a transfer fee of around €3m. Though the Brazilian might be worth more, he has just an year left in his contract and Liverpool want to let him go for the minimal fee.

To continue, the 4th player who may be on his way out of the club in the next few days is Belgian striker Christian Benteke. The 24-year old, though scored some important goals for the club last season, has not been able to impress the manager with his work ethics and it was clear that he has no place in the side next season.

Crystal Palace were linked with a move for the striker a week ago and it is now understood that Pardew’s side are ready to accept the valuation of the player and are readying a £30m bid after a £25m bid got rejected earlier.

This will be great news for Liverpool fans who were expecting that the Belgian will pose a loss of money after just a season.

And finally, for the biggest news of all, a story that can change the entire Liverpool season next campaign, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly ordered one of his centre backs to leave the tour of the US mid-way after deciding to take disciplinary actions against the Frenchman.

The defender was seen in a video joking with the manager on their tour to Alcatraz recently and it is now reported that Klopp was not happy with Sakho’s attitude and wanted him to go back to France and stay away from the game for the moment.

This will come as a huge blow even though the 26-year old is injured for the start of the season. If Klopp does not want him in his team, he will need another player to compete with Ragnar Klavan as a second choice center back.
