Liverpool’s Divock Origi subject to interest from Spanish giants?

Jurgen Klopp has already made the Liverpool squad a stronger contingent than it was in the previous season with a number of additions in the summer. He will surely add more to the squad to help him in the next season.

However, he now has to make sure that he lets all the players who do not fit his style of play leave so as to make the squad stronger. But the biggest problem for the German would be to keep hold of some of his big guns if top class European clubs come calling.

Here is one such problem with youngster Divock Origi linked with a move to Atletico Madrid.

The Spanish giants who missed out on their second Champions League trophy in 3 years are in search of a striker to provide a back-up for inform Frenchman Antoine Griezmann.

They were initially interested in Chelsea’s Diego Costa as they wanted a reunion with the Spaniard just a few years after he made the move to England. But the new manager Antonio Conte revealed that he wants to have the striker at his disposal next season which has seen Atleti’s attention turn elsewhere.

And now it is reported that Liverpool’s young Belgium international is on the radar of the Madrid club.

Origi was impressive in his first season under Jurgen Klopp taking on the responsibilities in the absence of first choice striker Daniel Sturridge lasts the season. He has the pace and ability Klopp needs from his strikers and he scored some crucial goals for the club in the Europa League last season in their run to the final.

Klopp has huge expectations on him next season but it may all burst if the Spanish giants are adamant for their player.

From the outset, the 21-year old will hardly want to move away from Liverpool given the kind of a role he may have at the club next season. The only thing that can attract him to Atleti is the lack of European football at Anfield.

Liverpool are not any closer to the Champions League next season and will have to fight hard to get into the top-4 of the Premier League but at the moment, the Belgium striker is happy and settled at the club and may not be too keen on a move to Spain this summer.

Do you think Liverpool’s young Belgium striker will move to Atleti this summer?
