Liverpool’s €62.5m Offer For Alisson Was Too Hard To Say No – Totti

Roma legend Francesco Totti says Roma had no choice but to accept Liverpool’s €62.5 million offer for Allison.
Allison became the most expensive goal-keeper in the history of football.
The Brazilian was the standout goalkeeper in Serie A last season. And, this deal means the Giallorossi are now in the market for a replacement.
Totti now works as a sporting director of the club. He insists they are looking to spend the money on improving the overall quality of the squad.
“We could not refuse such an offer. The figures on the transfer market have changed — it’s the first time such money has been spent for a goalkeeper and you can’t say no. I’m sorry because we’ve lost one of the best goalkeepers in the world and now we need to build a squad without him. Roma are building a young squad, with an eye on the future. We’re trying to strengthen it as soon as possible to make it more competitive.”
Meanwhile, Totti also had his say on the biggest transfer in Serie A history. The Seria A Champions signed Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid in a deal worth €100m.
“[Ronaldo’s] extraordinary — he and Messi are the best in the world. I’m happy [he’s come to Italy] because he brings a lot to Italian football. I hope he can do well in Italy, and I’m sure he will.”
After signing a six-year-deal at Anfield, Allison is looking forward to bring happy memories for Klopp’s side. Allison is expected to make his Premier League debut for Liverpool on August 12.
Meanwhile, Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco has promised Liverpool’s new signing Allison a revenge.
“We hope to meet him in the Champions League and beat him, like I told him today when he came to say goodbye.”
