Manchester United star scores a brace on his return

Srikanth / 19 January 2016

Adnan Januzaj scored twice on his first Manchester United outing, after coming back from a disastrous loan spell at Borussia Dortmund against

Southampton.

The 20 year old scored twice for the under-21s team which helped United win 4-0 against Southampton, while the other two goals came from Will Keane.

The youngster returned to England after getting only 12 appearances and only three starts, all which came in the Europa League, opening the scoring just

before the half-time with a deflected shot at Leigh Sports Village.

He also won a penalty which Keane converted comfortably for his second goal and increased his tally to five goals from the last two matches.

Will was happy to assist Adnan for his second goal, which the Belgian smashed home in the 79th minute to increase United’s lead.

Januzaj was impressive in his first return match having scored from 25 yards in his first attempt, before adding the second one from 12 yards as he made

his presence felt and would now strive to prove his mettle to van Gaal with his performances so that he gets chances to play in the first-team.

Januzaj as the first senior Man U player to score this season when he scored against Aston Villa in August last year.

Later he went through a loan spell at Dortmund at the end of the transfer window, but the loan was cancelled by mutual consent this month after he failed

to start for the Bundesliga title aspirants.

Will Keane too was on loan at Championship club Preston, but has scored five goals in two matches in his return to Manchester United.

Paddy McNair and Guilermo Varela, who played for the Manchester United first team as defenders for a few matches, both were not used as substitutes in

Man U’s 1-0 win against Liverpool and both of them started in Warren Joyce’s team for the U-21 side.

With a lot of young talent options for Van Gaal, it is to be seen who will impress him to get a chance to play for the first-team.
