Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed that star goalkeeper David De Gea does not want to play for the club untill his situation at the club improves.

De Gea has been closely linked with a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid this summer. The transfer speculations though calmed down after United claimed that they will not sell their star for a lesser amount. David De Gea still has a year left in his contract.

Louis van Gaal had excluded David De Gea from the match day squad in the first match of the season against Tottenham Hotspur. New recruit Sergio Romero was promoted to the first choice custodian.

Manchester United take on Aston Villa on Friday night in the second match of the season and yet again De Gea has been kept out.

Speaking about the Spaniard’s exclusion in the successding matches, the Dutch manager said: “We talked with him [De Gea] and he fully agreed with our decision.

“I have one assistant coach and another assistant coach so we speak about that kind of thing together. We have a goalkeeping coach, Frans Hoek, and I’m not doing everything alone.

“Frans Hoek… he has a meeting with David de Gea and he asked him: ‘Do you want to play?’ [De Gea said “No”]. Then I have to take the decision. It is a process.

“We had been observing him in preparation, he was not so good, he was not the same David de Gea as before. He was my best player last season. According to the fans, he was the best of the last two years.”

Real Madrid had earlier confirmed that they would promote Keylor Navas to first choice custodian after Iker Casillas left the club this summer. The Premier League giants confirmed that they would not let go their priced possession for a lesser cost.

It will be interesting to see what remains in De Gea’s future and exactly from when can he don the jersey of United in the new season.
