There has been a lot of speculations regarding Louis van Gaal and Ryan Giggs after their 0-1 away victory against Newcastle United. Manchester United’s scored a late winner in 89th minute courtesy of Tim Krul’s mistake, Louis van Gaal was pumped up in celebrations and his assistant Ryan Giggs seemed to be not interested and stayed mute.

When asked about their relationship Louis Van Gaal joked, “We have a very bad relationship. A very bad relationship.”

“I’m very irritated by this question. We have a very good relationship, everyone can see that we work very hard together, and that goes for all the staff and players. I think it’s a way of suggesting things, so I’m very irritated. I’ll take this up with the media, I’m not pleased”, he continued.

Ryan Giggs who served as caretaker for United last season before the Newcastle match said, “I enjoyed the brief spell I had in four games managing last season and that really helped with the transition. I didn’t miss playing as much as I thought I would.”

“I’m starting all over again. It’s a completely new mindset, a completely new job than being a footballer. So whenever that time comes – I don’t know when it will be – but all I can do is prepare myself. I’m serving my apprenticeship again. That’s the way I see it.”

Paul Scholes, former Manchester United player, said: “There’s no doubt, he had that little taste of it for the last three weeks of last year and he definitely wants to be a manager. You can see that. Over the next two or three years, will he have the patience to be a Number 2 for that long? I’m not sure he will.”
