Manchester United face PSV in their next Champions League fixture. The match will kick off at 19:45 GMT at Old Trafford. The English giants faced a disappointing 2-1 defeat in the reverse fixture in Holland. The match witnessed a shambolic performance from the Red Devils as they ended on an awful note and also lost one of their most important player, Luke Shaw in the game, to a serious injury. The English team looks on to take revenge against their opponents who now face United at their home. Ahead of the clash, a press conference took place in which United boss, Louis van Gaal announced some important news.

The gaffer stated that Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Marouane Fellaini are fit to face PSV. ‘’ I’m very happy to tell you that [they can return], more or less, because you never know as they haven’t trained so much this week and also before this week, Rooney is recovered and Martial can play,” he told  MUTV. “Fellaini can play. So that’s great news, I think.’’ LvG added that Herrera and Jones will miss out the games due to injury. “Jones and Herrera cannot play. It’s too soon because they also need recovery time. So I have five injured players.”

Luke Shaw, Michael Carrick and Antonio Valencia are all out with injuries and will continue missing the fixture. However, Louis van Gaal told the reporters Luke Shaw will have a scan on Friday to provide more information on the progress of his recovery. Bastian Schweinsteiger missed a training session and questions were raised on it to which LvG answered saying,’’”He needed a recovery day, but that doesn’t mean he can’t play [against PSV].”

On being asked about their previous meet, the boss had to say, ‘’ Van Gaal on PSV: “The first match was very disappointing because of the result and the loss of Luke Shaw.” Being asked about Memphis he said, ‘’”These types of players feel so much happier with freedom – he showed that in the first half against Watford.’’

James Wilson could return to the squad as he is back in training after suffering a swollen knee ahead of the Watford game. The Reds will qualify for the knockout stages if a victory is achieved against the Dutch side.
