Manchester United are looking to push through for a remarkable Deadline Day deal to sign PSG’s highly rated Brazilian center back Marquinhos.

Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal is in desperate needs to provide the much needed defensive cover for United and as it turns out Marquinhos looks as the most likely signing this January.

Manchester United have been in the market for a central defender for a long time now. Alongwith Mats Hummels, Ron Vlaar and Aleksander Dragovic have been United’s preferred targets, but given Marquinhos’s age and value for money, Van Gaal and Manchester United are ready to splash a whopping £35 Million for PSG’s center half.

Mancheser United have tried signing Marquinhos in the past as well, but only to be shrugged off by PSG valuing Marquinhos at £112 Million. There is no assurance for Manchester United this time round either, but Van Gaal and Co will try their luck with a last ditch bid worth £35 Million.

Marquinhos joined the French Champions in 2013 in a £24 Million deal from AS Roma. The Brazilian enjoyed a fruitful first season at the French Capital but since the arrival of David Luiz and full fitness of Thiago Silva, Marquinhos has seen his first team action get limited to just 8 games this season. These situations will surely prompt Marquinhos to join Van Gaal’s rebuilding job at Old Trafford.

It has been widely reported that United have reached an agreement with Mats Hummels in a £37 Million deal, but the World Cup winning defender will only join the Old Trafford outfit in the summer, that leaves Van Gaal with very little option to boost his fragile defensive situation.

Manchester United will be confident of signing Marquinhos in a smashing £35 Million Deadline Day deal by offering the young defender a guaranteed first-team action. Manchester United could use Adnan Januzaj as the bait to land Marquinhos. PSG have been very keen on signing the young winger on loan from United but Van Gaal has declined any advances from the French side. United might allow Adnan Januzaj to leave on loan for the season to get their hands on Marquinhos as early as in the next few hours.
