 Man United vs Tottenham:

Manchester United played a goalless draw against Tottenham , sharing a point after the 90 minutes, denying United to close the gap between league leader’s Chelsea and second placed Man City.

Hugo Lloris denied Falcao, Van Persie and Young to score, Juan Mata’s free kick bounced off the goal post to keep it at 0-0, between the two side in the first half.

Man United played with the unchanged team which had beaten Newcastle United just 48 hours earlier. Tottenham looking for the fourth spot , played possesion game in the second half but were not able to create chances to score, and felt that they could have awarded a penalty, when Roonely tumbled
Harry Kane. The score sheet remained 0-0 after 90 minutes.

Chelsea Vs Southampton:

Southampton opened the scoring in the 17th miniute by Sadio Mane chipping the ball over Courtois’ head. Chelsea equalised just before the interval through Hazard but failed to find the winner after that.

Cesc Fabregas was denied which looked a clear penalty when he went down under Matt Targett’s challenge, which after the match Mourinho described as ‘campaign against Chelsea”.

Chelsea played attacking game but Southampton defence was brilliant, as the blues faailed to walk away with three points which would have tightened their grip on the title race. The match ended with 1-1.

Man city vs Burnley:

Manchester City were not able to secure three points even after a 2-0 lead in the first half. City looked fresh from their last win and dominated the first half with Silva opening the scoring in the 23rd minute, scoring in the last five matches, followed by Fernandinho just after ten minutes.

Burnley replied back just after the break when Boyd scored in the 47th minute scoring his first away league goal. City looked all set to secure three points untill a goal from Barnes in the 81st minute denied them to close the gap with Chelsea.

City despite being without Ya Ya Toure and Kompany looked determined and played an attacking game, until heroics from Burnley in the second half devastated them, other wise City and Chelsea could have ended the Year with just a point gap.
