Manchester United and Jose Mourinho will be relieved that they were finally able to move out of the sixth place in the points table, thanks to a victory at the Riverside at the weekend, coupled with Arsenal’s loss at the Hawthorns.
United are currently just five points off Liverpool in the 4th place in the points table, having also played a couple of games less than their rivals and have a great chance to move into the Champions League next season.
Jose Mourinho has been planning his summer transfer window accordingly as he has been looking to add some of the biggest names in Europe to his squad come the end of the season.
This has seen the club linked with some of the biggest names in Europe but one name that is shockingly doing the rounds today is Manchester City midfielder, Yaya Toure.
Thrown out of Barcelona by Pep Guardiola himself in his time in Spain, Toure settled into life at the Etihad a few years ago and has helped them to some of the biggest victories in the history of the club.
He is not as mobile as he used to be but the Ivory Coast international is still right up there with the best in the business in the domestic league in England.
He has not been able to impress Pep Guardiola after a decent start to his playing time this season and his recent outing over Liverpool showed that he might not have a place in the first team anymore this season.
Toure has obliged to that fact and has already started looking for potential clubs that will be ready to take him.
Speaking to media recently, Toure revealed that he would love to stay in England.
Speaking after City’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool, he told The National: “That is why I want to stay in England.
“Otherwise I go to China or wherever because it is that type of game I want to play in. In England, it is fantastic. My preference is City,’ he added.
His agent also revealed that he is open to a move to top-4 rivals and cross-town rivals Manchester United have now emerged favorites to sign him this summer.
That is according to bookies who think the 33-year old will join Jose Mourinho for the first time next season.
Ladbrokes have made the Ivorian the 13/8 favorite to join the Old Trafford at the end of the season.
A move to Chinese Super League is 7/2 with a quartet of Premier League sides –Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham – priced up at 6s.
They have however ruled out a return to the Nou Camp with 20/1 on offer for the midfielder to head back to Barca.
Do you think Jose Mourinho will take Yaya Toure to the Old Trafford this summer?
