Manchester United eyeing Miranda

New manager Jose Mourinho is going for the kill in the transfer market as he now looks to sign a central defender to improve the defense of the Red Devils.

Having already signed Eric Bailly from Villareal for a reported £30 million, Mourinho is keen to add an experienced defender to his roster before his debut season at Manchester United begins.

The Red Devils have been linked to Juventus central defender Bonucci but the player is keen to stay in Turin which means Mourinho has set his sight on Joao Miranda who is currently on a two year loan spell at Inter Milan from Atletico Madrid.

Mourinho is keen to offload current centre-backs Daley Blind and Marco Rojo as he looks for a squad overhaul which is currently seeing United’s biggest summer spree in their history.

The 31-year old who represented Brazil in 27 matches has shown what he is capable of, during last season with Robert Mancini’s team. However, Inter Milan are not willing to let the player go as they have the right to sign the defender for £8.6million at the end of his loan spell.

However, his progress has been constantly monitored by Manchester United scouts during the latter stages of last season and the Red Devils believe that they could sign the experienced Brazilian.
