Saga drags on: Another day, another bid for Ramos by Manchester United, and guess what – another rejection from Real Mardird

Premier League giants Manchester United have placed a €45million ransfer bid for Real Madrid’s star defender Sergio Ramos, according to AS. Real Madrid have set a fixed amount of €90million for Ramos and United’s bid is half of that asking price.

United have been linked with several top defenders in this transfer window and Sergio Ramos was one of the key targets. Real Madrid on the other hand are keen on signing United custodian David De Gea to replace their outgoing captain Iker Casillas. Manchester United are now making it clear that in order to acquire De Gea’s servies Ramos will have to sold to them.

Real Madrid recently had announced officially that Sergio Ramos will be their next club captain and had sent a message that Ramos will be retained. The fans have also repsonded positively to the situation and wants their star to stay. Club President Florentino Perez clearly had stated that ‘Ramos is not for sale’.


Louis van Gaal’s side have already signed big names like Bastian Schweinsteiger and Moragn Schneiderlin alongside promising youngsters Memphis Depay and Matteo Darmian. Now the Dutch manager is looking for a leader in his backline to make the squad even more stronger. Sergio Ramos and Nicolas Otamendi are the two prime targets for Manchester United at the moment.

Money will never be a problem for the Red Devils who are ready to heavy amounts to strengthen their squad. They had already spend huge last summer and this time too they are ready to splash cash in the market for quality.

The Sergio Ramos transfer saga became bleak untill today when the news broke about one more attempt of Manchester United to sign him. This transfer will drag till the very end and will be interesting to see where actually the Spanish international land up. A huge tug of war is expected to happen between the two big giants of European football.
