Manchester United summer spending spree is not yet over as Jose Mourinho is keen to make one more impact signing this summer. The Red Devils have reportedly renewed their interest in Real Madrid’s star defender Raphael Varane.
Jose Mourinho has impressed Red Devils’ fans by analyzing the weak zones in United’s squad and having got impact players in each weak area as he signed the likes of Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and others this summer.
However, the Portuguese manager is keen to make one more signing in central defense before the end of the transfer window and have made a wish list of the potential targets.
Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane is one of the top defenders in his wishlist and Spanish media outlet AS claims that Real Madrid have rebuffed a £26m bid for the France international, although it is not made clear if the offer came from United.
The 23-year old who have broken into Real Madrid’s first team in the recent years have found it hard under new manager Zinedine Zidane as the former Real Madrid player prefers the duo of Sergio Ramos and Pepe ahead of Varane.
But Mourinho needs to sell some of the current players before signing Varane as Manchester United have already spent over £150m this summer. The Red Devils are also linked with the likes of Leonardo Bonucci (Juventus) and Jose Fonte (Southampton) as Mourinho looks for a leader in the young United defense.
