Reports suggest that Manchester United winger Ashley Young is set to sign a contract extension as the United management are ready to offer a new three year contract at the end of the season.

The 29-year has been in the form of his life and shown huge strides of improvement under new manager Louis van Gaal. He even beat Manchester United’s record signing Angel Di Maria for a first team place. He showed form from pre-season back in July last year and never looked back after.

The player have shown incredible form when players like Luke Shaw and Rojo got injured as he played both as wing-back and winger as per the manager plans. Ashley Young’s future at Old Trafford seemed to end 12 months ago but the player impressed a lot under Louis van Gaal especially in 3-5-2 formation that van Gaal opted during mid-season.

His strong performances down the left wing earned him a new contract. The winger currently earns £120,000-per-week, the new contract will see the player earn nearly the same with a slight improvement claims the report.

The player have become an integral part of the team for the first time ever since he moved to Old Trafford back in 2011. Young’s ability to contribute in attack and help them out in defense have made him an important player under van Gaal.
