Manchester United had a fruitful summer with the new manager Jose Mourinho bringing in replacements and additions to the squad all around the pitch.
He has bought in the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrik Mkhitaryan to add to his attack while the likes of Paul Pogba and Eric Bailly will add mettle to his midfield and defence.
However, it is understood that Mourinho is not yet done with his transfer business and that he wants to further add to his squad before the end of the transfer window.
Recent reports have linked the club with a number of players, mainly defenders and reports from TransferMarketWebtoday suggest that they are ready to make a move for long-term target Joao Miranda.
The Brazil international had a fruitful time in Spain playing for Atletico Madrid but moved to Italy with Inter Milan signing him on a two-year loan deal last summer.
He cemented a place in the side and was an important part of Frank de Boer’s adventure in Italy making 32 appearances in all competitions for the Italian outfit last season.
However, it is now revealed that the 32-year old is not happy with his stint in Italy and is ready for a move away from the club and that Manchester United are close to striking a deal for the defender.
Miranda played his team’s opening fixture of the season against Chievo on Sunday but is still open for a move and Jose Mourinho wants to add him to his squad to add some depth.
He has the likes of Daley Blind, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Bailly at his disposal in a central defenders role and Miranda will add plenty of mettle to the back four.
He is an experienced campaigner who will bring some European pedigree as well to Old Trafford and is a decent solution to the defensive frailties at Old Trafford this season.
However, it will be interesting to if Mourinho turns to Miranda with the likes of Jose Fonte of Southampton and Ezequiel Gray from Zenit the higher priority targets for the manager this summer.
Do you think United should sign Miranda this summer?
