Manchester United and Jose Mourinho are slowly building a squad at Old Trafford that can beat the best of teams in Europe in years to come.
After the debacles under Louis van Gaal, the new manager is trying to completely change the outlook of the squad and has already added two first teamers to the squad from the Dutchman.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, two big-name signings has already made the team stronger and it is reported that French starlet Paul Pogba is high on the wish list for the Portuguese.
However, with that deal stalling for a week now, it looks like the manager is looking elsewhere for additions and this brings us to this shocking story.
The Old Trafford outfit have reportedly made an enquiry about Portugal youngster Renato Sanches from Bayern Munich.
The 18-year old has grown on to become popular after his previous season with Benfica but has become the talk of the football world after his performances in the EUROs in France that helped his side to lift their first major title in years.
He was named the ‘Young Player of the Tournament’ for the EUROs and at just 18 has announced himself as one of the best midfielders in the world.
Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich made sure that they get their hands on such top talent as soon the previous season ended and the midfielder signed for the German outfit earlier this summer.
However, it is now understood that Manchester United are pondering over splashing the cash and have reportedly enquired about his release clause.
United were in the race for his signature before Bayern snapped him up and Jose Mourinho is apparently unhappy to have missed out on his target.
And now with Pogba’s move also taking time, the manager is desperate for top class talent which he will get if he is able to get his hands on Sanches.
Having just signed for the Bundesliga champions, Sanches will definitely cost a significant amount that might be a bit too much but if Manchester United really want him, there is hardly any doubt that they will think twice before meeting his valuation.
Though Bayern do not want to sell, a loan deal that will see the 18-year old play at United next season seems to be a decent move. The midfielder will not get enough game time under Ancelloti at Bayern and if he can prove himself in a loan move to Old Trafford, he will only become a better and a richer player.
At the moment, though, United are desperate for Paul Pogba and will do anything to get him back to the club after 5 long years.
Do you think Renato Sanches can be a good replacement for Paul Pogba at Manchester United?
