Manchester United prepare a bid for Borussia Dortmund star, owners give a nod

Manchester United have not had the best time so far this season and have been struggling to find the back of the net on a regular basis.

The squad has been criticizing for the lack of an outright goal scoring striker who can give the club 20+ goals a season and it is no surprise that the club has been linked to a number of high-profile strikers in recent past.

After Bayern Munich’s Lewandowski, Borussia Dortmund’s star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not reportedly on the wish list at Old Trafford.

Present manager Louis van Gaal is under immense pressure and will most probably be replaced by the end of this season. However, the Executive vice-chairman of Manchester United, Ed Woodward recently revealed that the club has a reserve of 121.6 million waiting to be spent on an overhaul of the squad this summer.

Ed Woodward also promised that the club will make a ‘star signing’ this summer and it is now rumored that Aubameyang might be on his way to Old Trafford next season.

And it is now understood that the club wants to finish off the purchase of the 70 million rated striker.

United recently have been linked with a number of superstars including Lewandowski, Bale and Neymar but Aubameyang looks a far better prospect for the English franchise.

At 26 years of age, the Gabon international is just reaching his peak as a footballer and is one of the most versatile players at the moment in Europe.

Having scored 26 goals already this season for the Bundesliga side, Aubameyang has been an important part of the Dortmund side that will look to take on the league leaders before the end of the season.

It will be hard for the German club to let go off one of their most influential players but if a lucrative offer from a club like United comes calling, it will be interesting to see how they can hold onto their player.

As for United, they will hope that a new coach and an overhaul in the squad might encourage a lot of good talent around Europe and will be hoping to land the 26 year old before the start of the next season.
