Manchester United have now lost 3 Premier League games in a row and it cannot just be a co-incidence that these are the similar games which Michael Carrick has missed through injuries. It has just got worse for the Red Devils as Carrick has been ruled out for rest of the season.

Van Gaal said: “Carrick is not available, we tried everything but now we have to think about next season. He shall not play anymore this season.

“We should focus on him and get him fit to begin the next season”.

Manager Louis Van Gaal has confirmed the news in his recent pre-match conference ahead of their game against Crystal Palace. United have been put under pressure by Liverpool for the last Champions League spot from the Premier League.

Carrick came off during United’s 4-2 win against Manchester City and has not featured since. Ironically, United have failed to score a single goal since Carrick’s absence and has lost all their games. Seeing this resounding stats, United fans must be getting wary after listening to the latest injury report in Michael Carrick.

Louis Van Gaal however did have some good news for United fans when he said that defenders Luke Shaw and Jonny Evans will be available for selection against Crystal Palace this weekend. United need a win this weekend to solidify their claim for the Champions League qualification or else Liverpool will pip them for the all important Champions League spot.
