Mane and Matip To Start in 4-3-3: Liverpool Predicted Lineup to Face Hull City This Weekend

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool put in a strong performance at Anfield earlier this week to hold off the table toppers Chelsea in the Premier League. Though Chelsea managed to keep their 10 points gap at the top of the table, Liverpool, who stole a point on the night, will now look to climb up the points table. They have a decent chance of doing so this weekend when they travel to the KCOM Stadium to face Marco Silva’s Hull City side that is battling relegation. The Tigers lost to Chelsea and drew against Manchester United in the last two rounds and the manager will hope that they can take atleast a point from this game to get closer to safety. But with Liverpool expected to go for the kill, they are expected to have a hard time. Here is the predicted lineup that Klopp might field for this game:

Team News:

Jurgen Klopp revealed that his squad has now new injury problems and that everybody was present at training. This leaves Danny Ings, Marko Grujic and Ovie Ejaria as the only injury absentees for this game. Klopp is expected to field his strongest lineup for the first time since the 6-1 win over Watford late last year.

Expected lineup (4-3-3):

Simon Mignolet:

Having put in a match-saving performance against Chelsea, Mignolet will be high on confidence going into this game.

Nathaniel Clyne:

Put in a decent shift against Chelsea and will hope to have an easier game this weekend against the Tigers.

Joel Matip:

The backbone of the Liverpool defence this season, Matip, will hope to put in a similar performance this weekend as he did at Anfield.

Dejan Lovren:

Growing in confidence by the game, Lovren is currently the first choice centre back for Klopp and should partner Matip on the night.

James Milner:

Though ineffective recently, Milner, is the first choice full-back for Klopp and should start this game at left-back.

Jordan Henderson:

The skipper of the side was decent against the Blues and will have to put in a similar performance to Liverpool are to take all three points from this game.

Georginio Wijnaldum:

The saviour at Anfield not so long ago, Wijnaldum, will play alongside Henderson as a part of the midfield three for Liverpool.

Adam Lallana:

Pushed into the midfield for the first time in over a month, Lallana, will be happy to be back in a productive position after some lifeless performances recently.

Sadio Mane:

Making his first start since coming back from the AFCON, Mane, will have to play an important role if Liverpool are to break Marco Silva’s side inside 90 minutes.

Roberto Firmino:

Missed a couple of sitters at Anfield on Tuesday but will hope to make amends this weekend in this clash at the KCOM.

Philippe Coutinho:

The Brazilian playmaker is yet to make an impact coming back from an injury and this game is a perfect opportunity for him to get back to his best.
