By the end of the year, Marcelo joined Real Madrid for an $8 million fee. With the Spanish giants, he has won four UEFA Champions Leagues, being elected to the Squad of the Season three times, as well as four La Liga titles.

In the 2013-14 season, the Brazilian scored Real Madrid’s third goal of their 4–1 win in the 2014 UEFA Champions League final against Atlético Madrid, with an extra-time strike from outside the box. He then played a significant role, as Real Madrid won the Champions League in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
For Brazil, he scored on his debut against Wales in 2006. In 2008, he helped Brazil clinch the bronze medal at the summer Olympics. He, however, did not get a call for the 2010 FIFA World Cup squad.

Marcelo was part of Brazil’s 2012 Olympic team, as one of the three over-age players, where Brazil won a silver medal. He started in all five games for Brazil during the 2013 Confederations Cup where the five-time world champions beat Spain to lift the title.
In the following year, he played his first World Cup, helping his side make it to the semifinal on home soil. Marcelo also featured for Brazil in the 2018 World Cup.
Just like other players, Marcelo also earns a significant amount of his net worth from endorsements. Until 2012, Marcelo was signed by Nike for the majority of his equipment. Currently, he endorses the brand, Adidas. But the details of the deal are not known.
