It was one of the best performances by Manchester United on Saturday when they defeated Hull City by 3 – 0. With three consecutive wins Louis Van Gaal’s side are now in fourth place just four points behind Southampton.
Stoke City has managed to win only one game from the last five they have played. Stoke are heading to Old Trafford this Tuesday and have only one clean sheet out of 10 games and also lost their last fixture to Liverpool.
Manchester United Team News
Louis Van Gaal’s side has been haunted by injuries from the time he took over. The latest injured player is Di Maria; the record signing was taken out of the game against Hull City in the 13th minute due to a hamstring problem. And since there is no update on his injury his start is doubtful on Tuesday.
Rafael, Phil Jones and Luke Shaw were side-lined on Saturday due to injuries and their return against Stoke City is in doubt. Jesse Lingard and Dailey Blind are also out due to injuries.
Stoke City Team News
Phil Bardsley is hoped to start at Old Trafford after recovering from injury. Gleen Whelan and Steve Sidwell are doubted to start against Manchester United.
Peter Odemwingie is also out to due to a knee injury. Victor Mosses is hoped to recover from his injury only by New Year whereas Robert Huth has been ruled out for the rest of the remaining season.
Manchester United –
Since Angel Di Maria is injured, Adnan Januzaj is the obvious choice at the right wing to replace the Argentinian. Van Gaal can also put in Ander Herrera who replaced Di Maria on Saturday. With so many defensive player injured, Van Gaal can go with the same back line which maintained a clean sheet against Hull City.
Stoke City –
Stoke don’t have much holding players in the midfield due to injuries. Therefore Stephen Ireland or Charlie Adam can be introduced by Mark Hughes to help Steven N’Zonzi. Stoke don’t have much fit defender and Geoff Cameron is likely to play in the right back rather than midfield. Former Manchester United player Mame Biram Diouf can also be introduce in the team to play against the former the club.

Wayne Rooney vs. Geoff Cameron
The Red Devils skipper has been in an impressive form in the recent weeks. Wayne Rooney, who scored the winning goal against Gunners, scored a remarkable goal on Saturday also against Hull and can play a vital role to get his side all the points on Tuesday. It will be very hard for Cameron and other players at the back to stop Rooney before he does lot of damage.
Robin Van Persie vs Marc Wilson
Robin Van Persie scored a stunning goal on Saturday and can be hoped to start since Radamel Falcoa is having fitness trouble. The Dutch player hasn’t shown much form this season under Louis Van Gaal, Persie gave a good performance against Hull on Saturday and is hoped to do the same on Tuesday. It will be a busy evening especially for Shawcross and Marc Wilson who will try to stop the Dutch Player.
Manchester United 2 – 0 Stoke City
Manchester United will have the upper hand on the visitors on Tuesday, as they won three games consecutively with brilliant performances. Meanwhile Stoke City is out of form and many key players are also side-lineddue to injuries and Louis Van Gaal will try to grab all the three points at home by dominating the game and winning again
