Key battles in the match-
Marko Arnautović vs Nathaniel Clyne:
Clyne will make a debut for Reds today and will have to start strong at right back position because the biggest threat for Stoke comes from the left flank. The Austrian winger will try to exploit Liverpool from the wings often and Clyne will have to make sure that he starts well defensively.
Philippe Coutinho vs Glenn Whelan:
Coutinho has been the best player for Liverpool last season. With his trickery, creativity and flair, he is the focus of Liverpool’s attack. Whelan has to watch the 23 year old Brazilian to make sure his team is not expoited by the attacking midfielder.
Christian Benteke vs Marc wilson:
Benteke is a proven goalscorer in Premier League and has also scored a stunner for Liverpool in his first friendly match. In the absence of Shawcross, The Irish defender has to make sure he marks Benteke well and does not give him an opportunity to score.
