This was unexpected. Not just to the Arsenal fans, but many of the Manchester United fans knew that it would be a tough match to say the least. A Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford, where the Red Devils faced off against the Gunners in the Premier League.

However, things did not go according to what many were expecting from the game. Though the visitors looked calm and composed at the start and created some good chances, their inability to convert them cost them once again.

It was Louis van Gaal’s side who played some quick football to take the lead. Teenage sensation Marcus Rashford was back to scoring goals, as he scored a brace once again.

The first came in the 29th minute, while the second came three minutes later depicting his quality once again, as he beat Petr Cech twice. The north London side fought hard and managed to pull once back just before half-time, when former United man Danny Welbeck headed one in to beat David de Gea.

After the restart, it was the same old story once again. The hosts looked more confident, as they added a third goal from Ander Herrera’s deflected shot which ended in the back of the net on the 65th minute.

Mesut Ozil scored a second for the visitors in the 69th minute to give them some hope, though it was just too late and they eventually lost 3-2. Arsenal did dominate the game with respect to almost all the
stats, though the one that mattered the most was won by the home side.

A great day for the Dutch manager’s side, who himself got into the action for the first time to enact a foul on one of his players. Something the footballing fans will remember and cherish for the years to come.
