Liverpool’s keeper Simon Mignolet hasn’t performed up to the mark, say the media. Also rumour has it that Klopp is looking for keepers to replace Simon. Among his top targets were Victor Valdes of Barcelona fame, Timo Horn of FC Koln and now a new name has been added to the list. John Buckland of Stoke City is currently being eyed by Liverpool boss, Klopp. However, Liverpool isn’t alone in the race to sign the player as arch rivals Everton also are aiming the keeper.
Both the teams are considering Butland to be the ideal replacement for their current keepers. Butland has had a really phenomenal season with his club and it is believed that Stoke are slap a price tag of nearly £17 million for him. Anfield and Goodison scouts have been keeping close tabs on the youngster and are ready to shell out money to land up the player at their respective clubs.
Butland has played for several clubs on loan in his career namely Cheltenham Town, Birmingham City, Barnsley, Leeds United and Derby County. The 22-year-old has also made 3 appearances for England.
It would be a tight race among the two clubs to sign the goalie as after looking at his top notch performance, other clubs may show interest as well. Butland has proved himself well in this season and definitely deserves the price tag quoted for him. No bids have been made until now, news will follow. Let’s wait and watch where do the six feet five inches player ends up at.
