Arsene Wenger under pressure after a shock 1-2 defeat in Croatia – What next for the Frenchman?

Arsenal and their fans seem to be on three different peripherals at the moment after their team came up with a shocking 2-1 defeat against Dinamo Zagreb in their Champions League opening night fixture. As expected, fans have turned their rage against Arsene Wenger and his tactics leading to the defeat and large share of the blame has been given to their striker Olivier Giroud, who now has scored just 3 goals in 15 games.

All summer, fans were crying out loud for transfers and then Petr Cech arrived. There was an obvious need of attacking players coming through at Emirates but in the end, Wenger has decided to play shuffle-your-pack with Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud up front which has seen his team create a lot of chances but struggle to score goals.

Arsene Wenger is a respectable coach who has managed over 170 European games, however, the kind of poor results and continuous elimination in either pre-quarter or quarter-final stage has to stop and this team needs to assess their priorities and act accordingly.

It is high time, their Premier League pedigree is put under questionable circumstance as it almost feels as if, the club is content with the tag of being the contenders and play beautiful football to end up with either 3rd or 4th place finish and get to knockout stages of Champions League every season. Something needs to change drastically for this club to reach the levels which their fans want and expect from their team.
