Paul Pogba has been urged to return to Manchester United, the club he left six months ago on a bad note. The midfielder wasn’t offered a contract extension at the end of his deal at Old Trafford last summer, leaving him with no option but to return to Juventus after six years at his boyhood club. Moreover, United were even laughed at as well while letting Pogba leave for free after signing him for a staggering £85m in 2016.

However, that had no impact on the club who were determined to stick to their plan of offloading the 31-year-old. Paul Pogba had rather become a controversial name in and around Manchester after a lot of issues were reported between the player and club. However, calls are now being made for the Frenchman to stage a dramatic return to United, after Juventus were hit with a 15-point deduction in the Serie A for a ‘transfer scandal’.

Paul Pogba is at Juventus to ‘show Manchester United they made a mistake’

Amidst fans urging him to leave Juventus who are the sinking Titanic at the moment, Paul Pogba had already cleared his stance over a possible return to Manchester United in the far or near future. He had left Old Trafford after making a significant 233 appearances for the club, scoring 39 goals, registering 53 assists and lifting two trophies. However, his controversies and lingering injuries forced United to opt against extending his stay at the club beyond 2022.

The World Cup winner then produced his biographical documentary, ‘The Pogmentary’ in collaboration with Amazon Prime Video, wherein he explained his absurd exit from United. Furthermore, his comments also indicated that Paul Pogba has closed all the doors on a return to Manchester United, and that he is at Juventus to prove how big a ‘mistake’ the Red Devils have committed. He said in the documentary:

“My thought process is to show Manchester (United) that they made a mistake in waiting to give me a contract. And to show other clubs that Manchester had made a mistake in not offering me a contract. How can you tell a player you absolutely want him and offer him nothing? Never seen that.”

Pogba, who had left United’s reserve team in 2012 to join Juventus had tasted enormous success in his first spell with the Turin outfit. He won four Scudettos at the club in a row, alongside five other honors and also featured in the 2015 Champions League final for the Old Lady. Re-joining them after a rather dull spell at United, the France international had said back in September last year:

“I like to think and say that it is my heart that made the choice to come back to Juventus. It was also maybe the right time to come back here. The last three years in Manchester, also conditioned by injuries, did not go the way I wanted, it’s not a mystery. Juventus came from two years in which they did not win the Scudetto. It was a good challenge for both of us, and maybe it was the right time to get together and try to take back our rightful place: me and Juventus.

“Inside of me I know that this jersey is very special. It brings out my best. We built a good history with this team, which I never forgot even when I left. Coming back here for me is always a reason to push even harder, to stimulate myself to do well. I never had any doubt that this is were I belong.”

Pogba has very clear thoughts about United, which show a reunion is never happening. Meanwhile, Pogba is on his way to full recovery after undergoing a surgery on his recurring knee injury which has kept him out since the start of the season and also forced him to miss the World Cup with France. Juventus, on the other hand, have fallen down to ninth in the Serie A from third, after the 15-point deduction.
