Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has hinted that Bastian Schweinsteiger’s transfer decision will be solely decided by the player himself. According to a German journalist, who works with Bild, the Bayern Munich manager said: “I told him, the future depends on you. I do not know, what happened. Basti has managed a great career. he must decide what he does alone”

He also said that Angel Di Maria is a quality player but spending a hefty amount on the Argentine will not be a wise decision. Guardiola further said: “I know Di Maria very well. It sounds crazy to pay 80 Million like Manchester United. but he has the quality.”

The Bayern boss made it clear that he will not be speaking on any transfer involving the Premier League giants. He concluded: I will not answer questions regarding the interest of Manchester United. Please ask about this Mr Rummenigge”

Yesterday Sky sports had reported that Bayern Munich Sporting Director Matthias Sammer spoke about Bastian Schweinsteiger’s future. Sammer was quoted:

“Basically, nothing is excluded. It’s a crazy world. He has clearly expressed that he is an important part of the team, but let’s see. We’re still waiting.”

The German international still has a year left in his contract. He had mentioned earlier to the media that he will speak to the club Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge regarding his future in the summer. He was quoted: “I’ve still got a year on my contract, so there’s no rush and the summer’s only just beginning.”

German journalist Christian Falk tweeted about Guardiola’s comments:
