Pep Guardiola’s Bayen Munich has recently secured a victory over Benfica but according to their boss it wasn’t convincing at all. Pep who has been appointed as the Manchester City boss from this coming season, has described Renato Sanches, the 18 year old Benfica midfielder as one of the best young talents of Europe. The Benfica bound midfielder is having a dream season at his current club. Sanches has not only established himself as a first-team regular at Benfica but also made his senior debut for Portugal this season.

Guardiola was very impressed by the Portuguese and Benfica midfielder in Benfica’s match against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night. Guardiola is about to leave the Bundesliga giants for Manchester City in the summer. Now impressing Pep isn’t a small thing, not everyone is Leo Messi or Douglas Costa! Thus it has tipped him to have a big future ahead.

“He is one of the best young players in Europe,” Guardiola said.

“It is not easy for anyone, at the age of 18, to be playing at the highest level.

“He has a great future ahead.”

City’s rivals Manchester United are also trying to lure Sanches this summer and are reportedly ready to pay up to £40m for the Benfica man. DailyStar reports that at the weekend, Benfica were ready to accept the offer, with a bonus of £8m afterwards.

With Everton’s Ross Barkley also on their radar, Manchester United are highly linked with Sanches and have made him their main transfer target this summer, as they badly want to strengthen their midfield. Bastian Schweinsteiger’s struggling form and the nearing of Michael Carrick’s contract expiry in the summer have made the manager conscious. In addition to all these there are also some doubts over Marouane Fellaini, Ander Herrera and Adnan Januzaj’s futures too, with less playtime all of them looks to be unsettled and unhappy.
