Things at the Theatre of Dreams look grim as reports in the Sun point towards a certain player uprising against their current boss.
The loss to Bournemouth has been a big blow for Manchester United as this marks the 5th match in succession where the Red Devils have gone without a win. Apart from the fans who have been increasingly vocal in their disdain of Van Gaal’s tactics, two senior players have also raised their voice regarding the same says the report.
This comes in light of another player questioning the Dutchman’s game plans after the tie against West Brom. It’s not only the current dressing room occupants who are exasperated with the ex-Barcelona man, but former Manchester United players too have questioned his future after a series of losses including a Champions League exit.
Van Gaal’s term has been a test of patience for the players with former defender Rafael saying that he didn’t enjoy playing football under the Dutchman and it’s arguably true. Van Gaal’s tactics have turned the players into a band of zombies who have forgotten how to attack or score for the team. These shenanigans on the part of the boss have left the fans infuriated and to show their anger towards him the fans lined up at the Bournemouth airport. But thanks to authorities (not really) the team was escorted directly to the tarmac to board their plane and thus did not have to face the wrath of the fans who travelled all the way to the south coast to watch the team that they love.
Louis Van Gaal has his task cut out for him. Though Manchester united sit at 4th position in the league, only six points away from this year’s league toppers Leicester City, Van Gaal has to change his ways to get the best out of his players. A source close to the team told reporters that there is no banter between the players and football has become devoid of fun, if Van Gaal wants results then he has to bring back a little bit of fire that is synonymous with the game of the Red Devils. If he fails to do so, we might see another manager being sacked in the EPL soon!
