Gareth Bale scored the winner as Real Madrid beat city rivals Atletico Madrid 4-1 in the Champions League final last night and delivered the club’s record 10th European title.


Sergio Ramos headed a corner to the far post in the 93rd to send the game to extra time.

Marcelo and Cristiano Ronaldo sealed the victory with two quick goals in the second half of the extra time.

Marcelo:”It’s an immense joy. We were slow to get it, but we know how we fought, how we sacrificed, we left everything on the field to give this joy to the fans.

“To those on the bench, on the pitch, in the stands, it was very nice. At last we’re going to Cibeles, I’m very happy. 

“There are no words. I can see it on the faces of the people, it’s a huge joy. It’s for everyone’s to enjoy, we deserved it.”

 Atletico Madrid took the lead in the first half after Iker Casillas misjudged a set piece.


Xabi Alonso missed the final due to suspension, but he entertained us all from the stands.
