Premier League outfit Arsenal host the champions of Europe, Barcelona at the Emirates on Tuesday night, as the two sides face off in the round of 16 of the Champions League once again. The two sides are unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions and will want to secure a place in the next round of the cup competition. The north London side have not been in the best of form in recent weeks and will have to put in a strong performance, if they wish to beat the La Liga giants and advance further in the competition.

It will be an interesting game as always, though manager Arsene Wenger will be aware of the threat provided by the Spanish outfit’s attack and will know that his team can’t be complacent in such a crucial match. The Frenchman will have to make a plan to counter one of the best oppositions in the world of football at present, with Luis Enrique’s side keen on winning the tie as well.

Here is what Wenger had to say in his pre-match press conference prior to the game against the Catalan side:

“Individually they have talent. We can do it if we are collectively resilient.”

On the coin throwing incident, he said, “People in the stands feel they can get away with everything. It is not acceptable.”

Talking about psychological preparations for the game against Barca, he added, “Against Barcelona everyone is naturally focused. We try to create belief.”

About his opposition’s weaknesses, Wenger said, “No team is perfect. Barcelona are not far from it! We need to take our chances.”

Speaking about Luis Enrique, “I knew him as a player. He scored against us. He has done remarkably well there.”

On team selection, “Petr Cech will start tomorrow.”

Further, he concluded by saying, “Tomorrow we need to find a combination of discipline, commitment and holding our nerve.”
