Premier League Team Of The Week: Do Liverpool and Arsenal Players Make the Cut?

The Premier League this weekend was back to its entertaining best as teams from around the country were heavily involved in a battle for all three points yet again.

With the winter transfer window now shut, teams cannot add anymore players to the squad and this round of fixtures denotes the start of the business end of the season where every point matter that much more.

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea managed to improve the lead at the top of the table with a victory over fellow rivals Arsenal while Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur were also victorious.

A struggling Hull City side came up with a shocking victory over Liverpool while Sunderland and Everton got thumping victories over Crystal Palace and Bournemouth this weekend.

Here is the Team of the Week for the 24th round of the Premier League fixtures:

Formation: 3-5-2

Vito Mannone (Sunderland):

Made a number of crucial saves early in the game to keep Palace at bay and helped his side to a comfortable victory, also keeping a clean sheet.

Lamine Kone (Sunderland):

Another player who put in a super performance at the Selhurst Park, Kone, was all over the hosts, and never gave them a chance to go through on goal on the night.

Andrea Ranocchia (Hull City):

Keeping the likes of Mane, Coutinho and Firmino in his pocket and not letting Liverpool near his goal, Ranocchia, put in a match-winning performance on his debut for the Tigers.

Harry Maguire (Hull City):

His partner, Maguire, was also at his best on the night against Liverpool as he won almost everything in the air and never allowed Liverpool time in his own half.

Michail Antonio (West Ham United):

The versatile winger has been the player of the season so far for the Hammers and he continued to impress with a productive performance in the victory over Southampton.

N Golo Kante (Chelsea):

The Chelsea midfielder is easily the best player in his position in the league at the moment. He never gave Arsenal a chance to get a hold of the midfield and gave Chelsea a comfortable victory on the night.

Marcos Alonso (Chelsea):

Another Chelsea star who was impressive against the Gunners, Alonso, was solid at the back, and also popped with the first goal of the game, and is growing into a valuable player for the Blues.

Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City):

Came into the starting XI to replace Sergio Aguero and got himself a brace to help his side to a much-needed victory over Swansea at the weekend.

Eden Hazard (Chelsea):

The man of the match for Chelsea’s victory over Arsenal, Hazard, was a constant menace in the final third for the visitors and his solo goal on the night should be named one of the best this season.

Romelu Lukaku (Everton):

With 4 goals on the night, Lukaku, will give the Cherries some nightmares this week as he helped cap off a superb performance with a 6-3 victory for Everton.

Jermaine Defoe (Sunderland):

The leading culprit in Sunderland’s victory over Palace at the weekend, Defoe, came up with two goals in first-half stoppage time to take his side 4-0 up at half time.

Here is how they would lineup:
