Reigning Champions League winners Real Madrid have now entered the arena to secure the services of Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham. The race to sign the England midfielder has now become more intensified, after Premier League giants Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United had already registered their interest in him. Real have joined the list as well, but are already being touted as favourites given their ability to assemble the ‘Galacticos’.
According to Spanish outlet MARCA, Real Madrid have shifted their focus towards Bellingham after they failed to facilitate the arrival of Kylian Mbappe this summer. The Los Blancos had everything readied to welcome the Frenchman, only for him to ditch them at the last minute and extend his stay at PSG. Real now don’t want to anticipate such a risk with Bellingham as they have set in motion their plan to bring the England international to Santiago Bernabeu.
Jude Bellingham to fetch over €100 million as Real Madrid well in position to fork out the money
Reports have confirmed that Jude Bellingham is going to rock the next summer transfer window, as Dortmund are bracing themselves up to receive multiple offer for their prized asset. However, its not going to be easy for any club to just takeaway the midfielder, as Man City did with Erling Haaland by triggering his £52 million release clause. Dortmund have reportedly set their asking price €100 million, which could further surge up.
Real Madrid have anticipated the hefty price tag as they are willing to shell out the money adds MARCA. The Los Blancos were quiet in terms of new signing this summer, as they only acquired the coveted Aurelien Tchouameni for €82 million from AS Monaco and Antonio Rudiger for free from Chelsea. However, they sold actively as Casemiro departed for Manchester United, fetching Real €80 million and another €15 million was raised from the sales of Borja Mayoral and Takefusa Kubo.
As a result, Real have financially bulked up and the Spanish outlet further adds that president Florentino Perez has kept aside the Casemiro money to splash it on Bellingham’s signing. The 14-time Champions League winners are becoming a hub for talented young players who constantly want to lift titles. The club has been able to entice the likes of Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni in recent years, and are well confident of beating Liverpool and Manchester City to Jude Bellingham.
Real already beat the Reds this summer to the signing of Tchouameni, as Jurgen Klopp was reportedly head-over-heels to acquire the 22-year-old. Liverpool are currently short at options in midfield and are slated to actively trade for at least a couple of new midfielder over the course of the net two transfer windows. Bellingham now tops their wish-list as they are reckoned to go all out for the teenager. Revealing some details about the same last month, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano had said:
“…Next summer for Bellingham, there is going to be a crazy, crazy race. My sources told me, ‘Get ready’, because we had the Haaland race, with Bayern, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man City, many clubs involved, but this Bellingham race will be many top clubs ready to do something crazy for Jude Bellingham. Liverpool signed Arthur Melo on loan, but they need a new top midfielder next summer and Bellingham can be the player, so Liverpool will try for sure. In England, all the top clubs, not just Liverpool, are tracking Bellingham.”
Meanwhile, Jude Bellingham hasn’t gotten carried away by all the rumours and interest he is garnering. The midfielder has resumed his exploits this season, putting up some brilliant displays in the Champions League scoring 3 goals and providing an assist in 3 games. He ended the last season on a high as well, netting 6 goals and collecting 14 assist in 44 games in all competitions. Next summer is definitely going to explode as Dortmund will once again facilitate the sale of another superstar.
