Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno has been rumoured to be linked with Spanish giants Real Madrid and apparently his agent has accepted that the player to open to any talks if the club approaches for any deal. Rafa Benitez is desperate to sign him as back-up to Marcelo. The left-back has been linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu stretching back to the days he was still at Sevilla. Real Madrid is a big club and it serves sensible if the player is ready consider them. It would surely be beneficial for the defender’s future.

Talking about being linked with Real Madrid, his agent added,

“It’s logical that they ask about such an important player. They are asking about him,” he said to Radio 4G. “Important teams from Spain and other places are asking.

“If a team like Real Madrid speak with us and Liverpool are satisfied with the operation, they could talk. If a team with the substance of Real Madrid makes an offer, it would be a joy for him.

“It’s difficult. Everyone knows the importance of Real Madrid but Liverpool have five European Cups. You have to give the first step to Liverpool.”

Madrid is looking for defenders to perform in Europe and Moreno happens to be their hot favourite since he won’t be club-bound even if he shifts to the Spanish giants in January. The reason being that Liverpool only play in Europa this season after they missed a spot in the UEFA Champions League.

Asked about whether he has been ever close to joining Real Madrid in an interview,  Moreno said: “Being honest I’ve never had anything serious with Real Madrid.

“Neither me nor my brother, nor my agent or my father. Nothing. There has been news but it was never something real.”

Questioned about recent reports claiming that the Spaniards will try to sign him in January, he insisted: “I have seen something but I say the same: I don’t know if is true. But yes, I have seen something.”
