In what comes as a shock transfer rumor, French international Moussa Sissoko is now linked with one of the biggest clubs in Europe.
The 26-year old had a decent season with Newcastle United but was not able to save them from relegation. However, he was excellent in the EUROs helping Didier Deschamp’s side to the Final playing an important role in most of the knock-out games.
So it is natural for him to want to move back into the Premier League on other top European league to play for a big team and it looks like his dream might come true this summer.
In what can be the story of the day, the French midfielder is said to be a transfer target for Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid.
Madrid are in search of midfielders who can control the game and were pipped by Barcelona to the signing of Andre Gomes, the EURO16 winner with Portugal.
The French midfielder joined Newcastle from Toulouse in January 2013 for a fee believed to be in the region of £1.5m and impressed on Tyneside with his energy in the midfield and attacking instincts.
He has the potential to play for a side like Real Madrid but if he will be successful three is a question for another piece.
The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool were linked extensively with a move for the 26-year old but it is now understood that Real Madrid have joined the race for his signature.
The report also suggests that the only thing that has kept the player from completing a transfer this week is the asking price.
The Magpies are relegated and need to get rid of players who are not ready to play in the Championship. So they are making sure that they can get as much as they can from their star players this summer.
This has seen them slap a price tag of £35million on the 26year old who has proven himself in just the one season.
It is understandable that the Spanish giants are bulking at his price tag but if Zidane feels that his countryman has the potential to improve his squad, he will end up paying the amount before the start of the next season.
It is also reported that the Spanish Giants are ready to offer a player on loan for Newcastle this season to help them reduce the asking price.
This move, if done, can also spell the end of Real Madrid’s hunt for Pogba and can clear Manchester United’s route to his signature.
Do you think Real Madrid will sign Moussa Sissoko this summer?
